We’ve partnered with Mr B’s Emporium, Bath’s independent bookshop, which celebrated 20 years this summer, to give one lucky person the perfect escape for book lovers: an overnight stay on our Readers Retreat at the Francis Hotel, plus six months of curated reading.

To enter, head to our Instagram and tell us your favourite book genre. Imagine checking into beautiful Bath with a book chosen for you waiting in your room, breakfast at Emberwood, and an evening in the snug with coffee and something from the dessert trolley on us.

Wander across the road to explore Mr B’s Emporium, then keep the story going at home with a further five paperback books, handpicked for you by the Mr B’s team.

Our Neighbour

A stone’s throw from the Francis Hotel sits Mr B’s Emporium. And the clue is in the name. An emporium of books for all ages, tastes and genres, with plenty to discover.

As our lucky winner, you’ll receive a six-month reading subscription, curated especially for you. It all begins with a simple questionnaire about your reading tastes, completed online, by email or over the phone. One of the Mr B’s booksellers will then become your very own ‘bibliotherapist’, hand-picking each book just for you.

Your first paperback will be waiting when you check into the Francis Hotel. A further five beautifully wrapped books will arrive in the months that follow.

During your stay, pop across the road for a wander around the shelves and discover Mr B’s for yourself.

The giveaway closes on Monday 28 September 2026. Entrants must be aged 18 or over.

The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and has no cash value. Stay dates are subject to availability and cannot be redeemed during the Bath Christmas Market period or between 22 December 2026 and 1 January 2027 inclusive. Stays must be taken before 21 March 2027.

The Mr B’s Emporium prize is a six-month subscription comprising six paperback books, with one book sent each month. The recipient must live in the UK. The voucher is digital and all confirmation and redemption details will be sent to the winner by email.
