Christmas at the Francis Hotel has its own particular charm and magic. Where traditions feel effortless and every detail earns its place. And this year we've pulled out all the treats and trinkets.
Bath Christmas market
Bath’s famous Christmas Market returns from Thursday 27 November to Sunday 14 December. You’ll find the stalls in the heart of the city along Union Street, filling the historic streets with gifts, handmade trinkets, and festive treats. The best part? The Francis Hotel is just a short stroll from all the action. After a day of shopping, drop your bags in your room and enjoy a cocktail or two in the bar, then wake refreshed and ready to do it all again the next day.

Festive feasting
When was the last time you gathered your favourite people for a long catch-up over really good food? Enter the Emberwood festive feasting menu, the perfect way to come together this Christmas. Think generous sharing platters, dishes to pass around the table, cocktails to clink, and stories to share. Christmas is the perfect time to make those long overdue plans, so start that WhatsApp poll and set a date.

The main event
The Emberwood hearth never takes a day off, not even on Christmas Day. Begin with a chilled glass of Vouvray Crémant before a five-course feast. The star of the table is traditional turkey with date and chestnut stuffing, served alongside plenty of Lardo roasted potatoes to go around. And be sure to save room for the date and Christmas-spiced pudding topped with gingerbread ice cream. Delicious.

A stylish New Year's Eve
How would Emily Francis have marked the eve of a New Year? As one of Bath’s most elite hosts in the 19th century, she would surely have staged an evening of sparkle and splendour, and today is no different. This New Year’s Eve, Emberwood is the place to be seen celebrating, with Champagne flowing, classic Emberwood Negronis and dishes cooked to perfection over the open hearth. An unforgettable night of glamour awaits, open to both hotel residents and guests from the city.
