Will ongoing renovations affect my stay?

We are reimagining the hotel. Work zones are kept quiet, and scaffolding is mostly hidden. Our lift may be out of service, so if stairs are a concern, let us know before you arrive.

Is the hotel family-friendly?

Absolutely. We have interconnecting rooms, family rooms with sofa beds, and cots on request. There is space for everyone to relax.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Absolutely. We offer a wide range of vouchers, from dining in Emberwood to overnight stays, with spa vouchers coming soon.

What is the accommodation service charge?

Our role is to help you make the most of your precious time with us. Need an extra pillow? We will be right up. Want your luggage taken to your room? No questions, just done. Have a special occasion? We will help you celebrate. Many guests want to thank our team for making memories, so we have added a 5% service charge to your bill.

What does the 5% cover?

It is applied only to your room cost. Packages including breakfast, dinner or extras are excluded.

Who receives the 5% gratuity charge?

Every penny goes to our team, and it is equally shared from reception to housekeeping to the back-of-house heroes.

I do not want to pay the 5%. How do I remove it?

Simply tell us. No quibble and no awkwardness. It will be taken off straight away.

Do I need to reuse my towels during my stay?

As part of our commitment to caring for the environment, we encourage guests to reuse towels when possible. It helps us reduce water and energy use. Simply hang your towels to dry if you’re happy to keep using them. If you’d like fresh towels at any time, just let our front-of-house team know and we’ll happily deliver new ones to your room.

Do you accept cash payments?

Our hotel operates on a cashless basis to provide faster, safer, and more convenient service. We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as contactless payment methods. If you need assistance with payment options, our front-of-house team will be happy to help.

Is the Francis Hotel located in Bath city centre?

Yes. You’ll find us right in the heart of Bath, just steps away from the city’s famous landmarks, boutique shops, and charming cafés. You can explore the Roman Baths, take in the Georgian architecture, and wander the beautiful streets, all within easy walking distance from our front door.

Do you have a spa?

The Francis Spa is a haven of tranquillity tucked beneath the Francis Hotel on Queen Square. We offer three boutique treatment rooms, a private thermal experience suite, garden lounge for pre-and post-treatment relaxation, and changing rooms with showers and lockers.

How do I book a treatment?

Our spa is very popular so we ask you to book in advance to ensure you enjoy the treatment, therapist, and time that suits you best. To make a reservation, please click here

What should I wear for my appointment?

Come as you are. For all treatments we ask you to wear your underwear. If you’ve booked a thermal ritual, you’ll need to bring your swimwear and we recommend flip flops too. Towels and robes can be provided for your comfort, if required.

What is the minimum age for spa treatments?

Our spa welcomes guests aged 18 and above to enjoy the treatments.

What is the spa etiquette?

To preserve the quiet rhythm of the spa and for the comfort of fellow guests, we ask that mobile phones remain on silent during your visit.

Is the spa accessible?

The spa is accessible by lift and includes an accessible treatment room. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us before your visit.
